The recently attended Blind Expo at the Gold Coast was a huge hit. Held every 3 years it is a showcase for manufacturers and suppliers in our industry to present new products or promote existing ones. It is also a chance to catch up with people from the industry that are spread over Australia. Here is a bit of a taste of what’s coming out soon.
Our latest room re-do at the beautiful Maleny Manor has just been completed and I would love to share some photos with you. Marlene asked for something classical with a French Country look but with a little pop of colour. Together we chose a classical damask style fabric in Taupe with a co-ordinating plain from Charles Parsons as our starting point. This was used for the coverlet, curtains, pelmet and cushions. To add some glamour and zing I chose a luscious velvet from Wilson Fabrics, Avida in Cornsilk, for the bed head and bed valance as well as more cushions and then the pop of colour was brought in with Ken Bimler’s Tudor Rose ‘Taupe’. For light filtering and privacy sheer curtains in Nettex Pulse ‘Champagne’ are also used. Here are the results I hope you love it as much as we do.
We have just received a new hanger from the Slender Morris library that I am very excited about. It is a gorgeous print collection named The Abbey Road Collection. There are four colour ranges and each colour has three designs. Portobello V is a lovely floral print in 100% linen, Sussex Stripe is a classic variegated stripe with a composition of 52% linen and 48% cotton and the Bray Flamestitch is also 100% linen. The range would be perfect for a combination of drapes, roman blinds, cushions and light upholstery. The colours are fresh, fun and contemporary whilst still being classical and timeless.
